In 1845, R · w · Thomson, a civil engineer born in Scotland, invented the pneumatic tire and won a patent from the British government under the title of "Improvement of Wheels of Wagons and Other Vehicles". The first pneumatic tire was born on December 10 of the same year. The first person who bought pneumatic tires was Luo Lie, an aristocrat. The total price of four tires was forty-four pounds and two shillings. In 1847, Science America magazine introduced Thomson's pneumatic tire, calling it an epoch-making improvement. In 1845, vulcanized rubber solid tire was developed.
